Here's to strong women: may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

𖣔

"Everything that happens is all because of WOMEN." This mere thought will have both positive and negative comments.

Firstly, let's take points from India's two biggest epics.

"Ramayan happened because of Sita, and the main cause behind the Kurukshetra war is Draupadi."

"Women are the cause of both drama and destruction," they say.

Have you ever given it a second thought?

In the Ramayan, Sita was kidnapped by Raavan. But Sita didn't draw the plot of her kidnap. It was Rama who took the responsibility to rescue her. If Raavan had left Sita to Rama, or Rama just ignored protecting Sita, Ramayan wouldn't have taken place. Since it did take place, Sita had to walk through fire to prove her virginity while coming back to Ayodhya from Lanka.

And in the Mahabharat, Draupadi is indeed fierce and speaks boldly. However, she is the first Indian daughter to experience pain that no woman ever has.

* Her father didn't love her.

* She was questioned about virginity.

* She was questioned about having five husbands.

* She was harassed in front of everyone at the court.

* She never got love from her husbands. Each of her husbands married other women.

* She lost all her children during the Kurukshetra war.

* She was the first to know the consequences of the Kurukshetra war beforehand.

Even after learning about it from Krishna, she could have stopped the whole thing! But she didn't. She had that chance to be selfish to protect her children, her husbands and her family or give up everything for Dharma, the path of righteousness.

She chose the second one. This proves, she is the strongest woman in history to sacrifice everything — respect, honor, love, children just to establish the right path for the world.

It can be accepted in various ways: that those two epics took place because of women, how a man should be held responsible for treating his/a woman, and how one should respect and value a woman's tears.

If two powerful women of the biggest epics suffered so much pain and harassment in the society, then how long will the list of every single pain of each woman be?

Not speaking from a feminist perspective, but the harsh reality which was and is there from the past.

SHE is pointed out for her beauty, her body.

SHE is questioned for her virginity.

SHE craves for love.

SHE craves the respect that she definitely deserves.

Yes! SHE is dependent because she will be 'everything' when a man respects her and people respect her way of living.
